The Perfumer’s Palette

pink_rose_sm

An introduction to the world of perfumery.

Each week we explore a new family of materials, from exquisite florals (Indian jasmine absolute to orange flower water absolute) to warming balsams (peru, benzoin, opoponax). We explore materials like the refined Ambroxan (derived from ambergris) and dasmascone alpha (a component of Rosa damascena).

As the weeks progress, students build on a solid foundation of knowledge which they can apply to their own creations. We use the ‘Etude Olfactive des Essences and et des Absolues’ created by Jean Carles and the Olfactive Study of Synthetic Products charts to organize our study.

The second part is devoted to blending and you will be able to take home your creations.

No experience is necessary. All you need to bring is an open mind, a clear nose and a sense of fun!
