Aromatic and Balsam families

Lavender_field

An introduction to the world of perfumery. We start with an overview of the Natural and Synthetic families, learning the classification of materials. We will use the ‘Etude Olfactive des Essences et des Absolues’ created by Jean Carles and the Olfactive Study of Synthetic Products charts.

For this class, we will then begin studying the Aromatic and Balsam families. From French Lavender, Armoise and Myrtle to Peru Balsam, Opoponax and Tonka Beans.

The second part of the class will be devoted to blending and you will be able to take home your creations.

No experience is necessary. All you need to bring is a notebook, an open mind, a clear nose and a sense of fun!
